Arguably one of Steve Ditko's finest superhero creations, Mr A is certainly the most clearly Objectivist - his calling card is half black and half white, encapsulating his view of the world. It is thought that even the character's name came from the dictum "A is A".
This same worldview is reflected in the storylines, as those preaching mercy on criminals are shown to be philosophically inconsistent, and are contrasted dramatically with Mr. A's unwavering commitment to justice.
Like most of Ditko's more philosophical work, the Mr. A stories were published independently or via small publishers after Ditko had tired of the large "establishment" comic book companies, meaning that copies tend to be on the expensive side, if they can even be located..
