Ubp! Just noticed that the asterisk-symbolized password encryption (on folks' preference pages) ALWAYS shows 6 symbols (check this yourself). The rabbit hole goes deeper ...

Now, I'm starting to believe I'm being blocked by a 3rd party -- perhaps even, inadvertently by myself (attempting this all on computers harboring spyware, for example).

Dear (potential) 3rd Party, if you are out there -- and you can read this -- I'm sure we can work something out (I can be awfully respectful of the interests of others, if only given a chance ... ). There might even be a mutual benefit to our working together. Anyway, I'm only talking to a potential ghost now, so I'll cut this plea short (for sanity's sake).

Heh, thanks for the uplifting quip, Jim! My spirits are down regarding this hopefully-transient dilemma. Maybe -- on the off chance that there actually is a measure of skullduggery here -- my mercy plea will help? ...

For your lifting of my spirits, I can only award you 1 atlas point (my alias isn't as popular/appreciated as the original). The thought of living out my future life here as a mere alias is disturbing. And it'd take me ANOTHER 2 years to get my atlas count up to where it was! Anyway, this might all be a simple -- as of yet unrecognized -- glitch.

I'm having the same problem. I guess that means either you can relax (lower your flag, so to speak) OR I should be very afraid. You can see me now because I never log off on my home computer. At work, however, I too had to create an alias in order to log on and call for help.

I tried clicking the recover link last night, but as yet have not received an email. Here at home, I have changed my password (to a very loooong one) but I'm afraid to log out here to find out if it's working. I'll try later from work.

It appears that solohq.com cannot send emails anymore. I'm not sure why... maybe the admin disabled it since too many emails were being sent from new forum post notifications.

I still haven't found why Ed is having trouble. Ed, can you message me the browser you are using, and your cookie settings?

The mail is working now, the server just delayed it by many hours.

You must now type in your username and password with correct CaSe. Was it like this before? Maybe thats the reason why I could log in as Ed or Tanya without any problems, but at the same time they could not.

We are using a better password encryption algorithm now, so if you would like to change your password, you can go ahead and do it. There is a link to changing it on your preferences page.

Michael, don't feel bad. I've only been there once and that was long ago. If that's enough to flag me, fine. It's still better than China 'round here.

My writings, themselves, would be enough to lock me away in just about any country with more force than freedom. My contributions, alone, would be enough to totally piss off any "dictator / would-be dictator." Besides, this idea was misapplied to this case -- which is best explained by a case-sensitive glitch (and not by those 2 guys -- in suits, shiny shoes, and sunglasses -- that I keep seeing while out running my errands).
